Our Journey

Our Journey

From 1991 till 2010, Frank Keane ran Ireland’s leading ceramics gallery – Keane on Ceramics – on Pier Road, Kinsale Co.Cork. In March 2012, Koko Kinsale grew from the ashes of the gallery when Frank decided to pour his love for design into bringing quality, handmade chocolates to locals and visitors alike.

Since opening our doors, Koko has become woven into the local Kinsale community – our customers know us and we know them. It’s through this connection that Frank has been able to carefully adapt ideas and develop new flavour combinations to suit the Irish palate along the way.

We use only the finest chocolate for our small batch creations and love to incorporate locally-sourced ingredients where possible, such as seaweed, honey, herbs and more. We also offer a full range of take-away Greenbean coffee, as well as bags of both bean and ground for home-brewing.

Kinsale is a small town on the south coast of Ireland, famous for many reasons, including being a “mecca” for foodies across the globe. We’re proud to form part of what’s become known as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland. Find us on the well-loved Kinsale Food Tour, on which we’re a must-stop for some tasty treats and a hot drink. We’ve also been recognised by Good Food Ireland and have recently been awarded a Great Taste Star for our Hazelnut Spread.

We’ve recently welcomed Franks daughter, Emily, to the team to help grow and develop Koko Kinsale, but we want to hear from you too! Get in touch and share your feedback, so we can continue our journey.
